Prof. Sarah Guri-Rosenblit is the Director of International Academic Outreach and the head of Graduate Studies in Education at the Open University of Israel. In the last fifteen years most of her studies have been conducted in the field of comparative research of higher education systems, distance education and e-learning. She was selected in 2005/6 as one of the 30 New Century Scholars in the Fulbright Program on: 'Higher Education in the 21st Century: Global Challenge and National Response'. Since 2003 she has been a member of the Scientific Committee of Europe and North America in the UNESCO Forum of Higher Education, Research and Knowledge.

He has conducted major national studies with Jeff Seaman on instructional technology use in American K-12 education. Prof. Karkina is head of advanced training programs with online app for school teachers implemented with grant support of the Ministry of education of the Tatarstan Republic (2016) and coordinator of project of music teacher professional training program in online format based on LMS Moodle (2018).
Her main research issues - published in more than 70 papers, also indexed in Scopus and Web of Science - are pedagogy, design of active learning environment, online education.
